First Quarter 2026 Updates

The start of 2026 has been active for our department, with a total of 42 calls for service. Using an estimated 1.5 hours of on‑scene time per call, this represents approximately 63 hours of service provided to the community.

These totals include Mutual Aid responses in support of North Bollinger County Fire, Millersville Rural Fire Protection District and Biehle Community Fire Protection

Internal Trainings & Meetings:

  • Operations personnel participated in an estimated 13+ hours of internal meetings and Wednesday‑evening training sessions.
    • This includes a 3‑hour training session with Spartan Support Services covering Mayday processes. (This session was lecture‑based; practical application will occur on a later date.)

External Training:

Operations members completed a combined 24 hours of external or online training. Courses attended included:

  • Pediatric Seizure Management
  • Endocrine Emergencies
  • Trench Rescue Awareness
  • Traffic Incident Management
  • Skywarn Storm Spotter
  • Understanding Dementia
  • Cardiac Anatomy & Physiology
  • Emergency Response to Hunting and Outdoor Emergencies
  • Overdose Response (NARCAN) Best Practices
  • Reading Smoke (Spartan Support Services at North Cape County)
